Serious PTA watchers track the PTA processing spread โ roughly, the price of PTA minus the cost of PX needed to make it. When the spread is fat, producers run at full rates and new capacity gets incentivized; when it's squeezed to near-zero or negative, the market is pricing in production cuts. Step 3: Trade the session structure
Use the night session for energy-driven moves and the day session for domestic flow. A simple approach many traders use: define your thesis before the night session opens, place your risk parameters, and avoid chasing the opening minutes of either session โ the first prints after open are where retail gets filled at the worst prices.
Step 4: Size for the gap, not the tick
